Werewolves listened attentively to Ilva, and now each group dispersed to their part of the park. They were not just randomly pursuing enemies – they knew exactly where they were hiding. And together with them, not only werewolves but also Iron Fangs rushed through the trees purposefully.
Luzen separated from the others shortly before they reached the Pack. Therefore, Slit and Ilva's trusted werewolf, the one known for his fierce iron jaws, remained here. Ilva watched with satisfaction as her loyal subordinate ran away with the rest of the Pack, and a slight smile appeared on her lips.
"Garlark, are you also going to participate in the battle?" Ilva asked, not taking her eyes off the unfolding battle.
"No," Garlark answered calmly. "This is a battle between two Alphas. I am only here to record what happened."
"That's right. Then be sure to include this in your report..." Ilva lowered both her hands to her sides. "I, Ilva, played a key role in the victory of the Lupus Pack in this war."
Suddenly, a heavy shadow loomed over them.
A huge figure flew through the air and landed exactly between them. The impact with the ground caused a low, dull rumble. Heavy. Powerful. It was Lupus himself.
"I smell so many scents here..." Lupus growled. "But where is he? Where is the second Alpha? And where are the other Pack members?"
Ilva looked into Lupus's eyes. They glowed red. A thin stream of saliva dripped from his mouth, making her breath falter for a moment.
She had never seen him like this before, never seen Lupus so excited about the upcoming battle.
"It seems Gary is using some kind of scent-blocking agent," Ilva observed. "That's why we can't determine his location. Mostly it smells of humans and Alters. Who knows, maybe he's even hiding."
"No!" Lupus roared, shaking his head. "He is not hiding. I feel him... I know he is close. I just don't understand where yet. But I will find him, and when I do, I will put an end to it."
And in the next moment, Lupus darted away and disappeared among the trees, following the faint trail that his instincts could catch. One of the strongest living werewolves was now freely roaming the park and hunting. The mere thought of it sounded dangerous.
"I don't like that look in his eyes," Garlark said.
"Which one? The look of a man who finally wants to fight?" Ilva replied. "I've seen that fire in him before."
"That's right," Garlark said, squinting. "But not in this situation... This issue has always been painful for him. He even doubted whether he should meet the Howlers after the full moon. And now? Suddenly he decides to act and looks like he's eager for a fight himself. This is completely unlike the Lupus who always put the Pack above his own desires. And he still hasn't said a word about what happened to the castle that day... or what happened that night."
Ilva moved closer to Garlark, and a wide, confident smile appeared on her face.
"Lupus is finally doing what he should have done long ago. Now we will strike with minimal losses... and then we will go after the Vampires."

Meanwhile, Austin had already led the others to the required area. He continued to move through the park towards the next key position, a parking lot near the top of a small hill.
The slope rose slightly upwards, and Austin ran up it quickly. But about halfway up, he noticed them, a multitude of werewolves who had set up an ambush and were already waiting ahead.
And then he saw other figures – people in black and gold clothing. The members of the Howlers were ready and waiting. In each of their hands was anti-alter weapon, prepared for battle.
Bolts shot out from the weapons and rained down on the advancing werewolves. Some had electric-charged iron nets. Others hurled huge spears down the slope, and impact-activated traps dug into the ground and exploded on contact.
Some werewolves managed to evade the barrage. Others were less lucky. Most hits didn't kill them, but the attack noticeably slowed their advance. The angle of fire, the coordination of actions, and the huge number of attacks made climbing the hill almost impossible without being hit.
But those few who did manage to break through to the top... were met with an unpleasant surprise.
There stood a creature with several large tentacle-like appendages sticking out of its back, and swords in both hands. Without hesitation, he threw one blade down the slope and pierced the tough hide of a werewolf clean through. The weapon sank deep into the flesh, hitting its mark precisely.
And he was not alone. Nearby was another figure, hurling similar heavy weapons with immense force. It was obvious from the energy emanating from them that they were not human.
When Austin finally reached the top, a wide grin appeared on his face.
"Good job, Vir, Vlad. Let me help you with one more thing," he said.
These two Alters, who had joined him in the parking lot, got along well with Austin, and this time he had prepared something special. A whole row of scooters with full fuel tanks had been set up in advance at the very top of the parking lot.
